So if you're in the area, make sure you pop in to the always busy, always great Ali's nicer and let them know that I sent you I remember clear as day that banner that the Arsenal fans wheeled out all those years ago now, Arsene, thanks for the memories, it's time to go, that's the vibe at Celtic, look, let's just cut to the chase, it has to happen, I think we've kind of, now I wouldn't say I've necessarily danced around it these last few weeks, I think I've been very clear on what I think needs to happen, in fact I think I've been clear about that since we lost to Rangers at Celtic Park back in September, but you know, instead of just dancing around it, trying to be overly kind about it, he needs to go, this has to change and it needs to change tonight.

I love him to bits, I really do, but this cannae go on, we are watching a team fold in real time, we are watching cluelessness reign supreme and I said this when Wilfred Nancy went through very similar form and I will repeat it now, I won't hesitate, stutter or stumble, we are throwing away a league title, we are handing it over to Rangers, it's there right in front of us, right there, and you cannot hide away from it anymore, there is no amount of convincing you can do, there's no amount of cope left on this world for us all to share around, We are handing away a league title.

And, you know, we keep coming into these games saying something needs to change or we need to see an improvement, we need to do something different.

So, you know, we've got Thursday coming up, we've got to get a doing, right? We've got to get a whooping on Thursday, right? what do we say going into that game? Oh there has to be an improvement, oh we have to avoid getting battered, right okay we lose, then we go into Sunday, then we go into the game right before the international break and we say oh we need to be better, we need to improve, we need to see something, you cannae maintain a season like that, you cannae sustain anything, like if that's going to be the mantra, if that's going to be the way how we view Celtic, then what are we actually aiming for this year? Just to hope by the skin of our teeth that that we somehow finish first, maybe even somehow finish second.

There was a real point last year where it looked as though Celtic were going to finish third and I remember there was a bit of a hysteria around it and I think we were all kind of sucked into it, but there was like a real understanding that third was a possibility.

I think this year we're lucky that Hearts don't look as good, but they're a couple of games away from putting Heat right back on us, this is where we're going here, because nothing, it's getting worse by the week, and the real, it had a very, it was eerily similar to what I felt watching the game, especially when Falkirk scored their third that ended up getting chopped off by the way, when Falkirk scored that third goal though, it just, it felt like Tony Mowbray at Love Street back in 2010, that's what it felt like, and yeah, we are being, we must be one of the worst coached teams in football right now, we look like we are coached by amateurs and this is, you know, it all comes back to the mismanagement of the football club in general, you know, Martin O'Neill is a spoke on the wheel, Martin O'Neill has been dragged in to this situation, to this conversation by the complete ineptitude and the inability of the Celtic board, right, he's a spoke on the wheel, he's not complicit, he's not guilt, he's not free of any blame or guilt because at the end of the day he's the one that's meant to be coaching the players, but you know, this all comes back to the mismanagement, he should have never been here in the first place, the football wasn't good last year, the split we turned it on, it got serious and there was like a passion, there was a vibe that came about that turned everything around, it was wild papering over cracks, the football was never good under Martin O'Neill, we're not going back to the early 2000s before somebody wants to be that level of petty in the comments.

It was never good in the first tenure when he came in post-Rogers resignation and it was never good when he came back following Wilfred Nancy, like this was always a real possibility, in fact I think a lot of people will tell you it was bound to happen and we're watching it happen, once again because of the mismanagement, because he's been put in a position he should never have been put in, but it's still happening, and you just, you kind of get away with it, and obviously the question that comes next is, and this is where I'll make it very, very clear, this is why it must change, why he has to go, and I think, you know, you could say, oh let's extend him the kindness of keeping him on and then we'll go from the international break, no, it should happen now, it should happen now, and this is why, the question you get asked is, oh well if we take him, who are we going to get? I genuinely think there is a plethora of bang average coaches who will coach us better than how we are being coached just now.

I think there are coaches out there across the continent who could be the most uninspiring appointment you'll ever have, but see Monday to Friday at Lennox Town, I think they're going to coach these players.

There was that very damning and interesting... clip of the James McLean autobiography that's kind of went viral on Twitter these last few days where James McLean talks about the Euro 2016 tournament, Martin O'Neill was of course in charge of the Republic of Ireland and it was very damning because James McLean basically comes out and says Martin valued the kind of old schoolers, the modern players at that point in time kind of the players being coached in you know championship teams by younger coaches etc couldn't really understand or get to grips with what Mark was doing because there was a big stress on there was a point stressed of like the game hasn't changed that much as much as people have told you and it was like tactics don't matter and all that jazz real quotes from that passage and obviously James McLean is hardly going to lie about his former national team manager and his autobiography that was 10 years ago Now football itself, and this is the worrying part of it, football itself has changed drastically since 2016, let alone how it's changed from the 1970s and 80s when Martin O'Neill was a player, it's changed drastically and if that was Martin O'Neill's thinking then, well it's clear that it's probably his thinking now because what we're seeing on the pitch is a team that look trapped in Jurassic times.

and if we keep sticking with it, if we keep going the way that we're going, we are going to do irreversible damage, if not we've already done irreversible damage.

I cannot make the point clear enough, I love, respect, adore the guy, everything I said about him getting a statue in the Celtic Way I would never turn around and change, I can appreciate what he done, we're separating it from the fact that it just can't go on like this anymore, it can't, and like just I said I used this quote the other day about you know you live by the sword you die by the sword the complete refusal to do anything different like we're 2-0 down and you bring it I mean there has never been I posted this on the Celtic Thunders podcast page on Twitter there has never been a more in the trenches moment than watching Celtic 2-0 down with six minutes to play and Sebastian Tenechte and Luke McCowan the players brought onto the field of play to save the day, to turn the tide, the complete refusal to stick two up front, why? Well we've got to lose, you may as well try, you've got the young lad Shim Miyuka on the bench there, stick him up front with Kasper Hu, get two men, two big strikers, physical strikers and granted, I mean, we couldn't get a ball to them anyway, I think Kasper Hu had one touch or something in the second half, so probably wouldn't have made a difference, would I mean, diddly squat probably, but at least, you know, give the, give the fucking illusion that you're going to do something to influence change in the game, don't bring on Luke McCowan and Sebastian bloody Tenetti.

everybody is guilty in that coaching room and it all comes back to the fact that you have a guy who's been out of the game for the best part of, out of club management really since the early 2010s, I'm not counting his brief wee run at Forest where he was caretaker, and you've got a failed Wigan and Hibs manager beside him and then you've got B team coaching staff like Steven McManus, we are being coached like an amateur football team, we're being run like an amateur, I mean it's actually offensive, there's better run amateur football teams than there is Celtic, it would be offensive to turn round to anybody who runs an amateur football team and say that they're on par with Michael Nicholson and Dermot Desmond and co because they're probably doing better, so the place is a circus and it's continued to be, it's been a year of the club being a circus and look I don't know what comes next, I get once again that's going to be the question, oh what do we do then? It's not for me to decide, but what I do know is this can't go on, irreversible damage is being done in front of their very eyes, and look, before, I know there's going to be a lot of people who are of course endless backers of Martin O'Neill because of who he is and what not, and to an extent I understand that, I think you need to separate yourself away from that, but like, as I said, I think there's a plethora of coaches who can come in and pick this up, It happens at football clubs all the time.
