There's a phrase you've probably heard hundreds of times, and perhaps you've even said it yourself.

We often say that people have energy, that rooms have energy, relationships have energy, food has energy, as do plants and crystals.

Sometimes we feel drained and depleted when spending time with a particular person.

Other times, someone enters our lives and we feel more alive simply being around them.

And for those of us who work within metaphysical traditions, the word can become even more significant.

We talk about energetic blocks, energetic imprints, chakras, auras, subtle bodies, healing, intention, consciousness, and sometimes information that seems to arrive without any obvious physical explanation.

When we say everything is energy, what do we actually mean? Because energy is also a scientific word.

So are physicists and energy healings talking about the same thing? Are they talking about different dimensions of the same reality? Are we using one word to describe several different phenomena? And could there be aspects of what we call energy that we simply don't completely understand yet? I don't think we have to begin this conversation by choosing sides.

I want to know what scientists can measure and what experiments actually demonstrate.

And I've had experiences with clients that have left me asking questions I can't simply answer by opening a biology textbook.

So today, I don't want to prove that everything is energy, and I also don't want to disprove it.
