Jared NewlandHostYou know, Jared, we're kind of in that time of the year and have been in that time of the year for the last two weeks where you have to believe what you hear, not what you see, because Jay Salvel has only opened up three practices, and that was just two normal practices early on in fall camp, and then the first scrimmage.
Obviously, their first opponent, Colorado State, they don't want anybody coming up.
checking out what they're doing, what they're up to, how they're utilizing their personnel, et cetera, especially with the new offensive scheme.
But, hey, you know, I've got fans going, man, why aren't they opening it up? How soon we forget.
And I know a lot of fans would say back in those days, oh, you know, you're pumping their tires and it's all positive stuff.
And Craig was pretty good about talking about the negatives and saying, like, Thank God.
They had the second scrimmage on Saturday, which obviously was closed to the public and the media.
That's one of the first times Jay has walked out of anything going, offense won.
And I tell you, the scrimmage we saw, the offense did not win that one, and the defense looked dominant.
So to hear the head coach say, a defensive-minded head coach say, the offense won that one, I thought was really telling in a lot of ways, even though we didn't see it with our own eyes.
Apparently Tyler Hughes, the worst kept secret in the world, Tyler Hughes named the starting quarterback for the Cowboys just a couple of days ago.
