I do think he's very skilled in the past game, and that adds something that is probably underrated when we talk about running backs.

But, I mean, to go – just think about the backs that they've had here going back to Josh Adams over the last 10 years here.

It's like they've had guys that would scare you.

Nolan James doesn't.

2017, it did not matter who Notre Dame put in a running back.

The difference in talent between Dexter Williams and Josh Adams was enormous between them and Deion McIntosh.

But what happened when Deion McIntosh got in the game? He still went.

He still ate.

He committed the next day.

Tony Jones had to wait his turn behind guys like Josh Adams and Dexter Williams, but he bided that time, and as a senior in 2019, he rushed for 857 yards and six TDs.

He had a career-high 176 yards against USC, and in his final game for the Irish, he broke an 84-yard touchdown run against Iowa State, the longest rushing play in Notre Dame bowl game history.

Tony Jones Jr. was tough, patient, and dependable, and when his opportunity came, I thought he really made it count.

Even on the TV copy, you see it and you're just like, dude, just keep run outside to the sideline and see if they catch you.

That is one where Josh Adams moved out to the left to the left.

I think that has been the biggest positive in two games is they're constantly getting yards forward.

They're not going backwards.

There's been plenty of them over the years.

Play those bad boys.

Like, did everybody love Kyren Williams? Everybody loved Josh Adams.

Everybody loved Audric Estime.

Everybody, uh, like they didn't-

Different skill sets at running back.

I mean, your running backs in 2015 were like 6'1 Josh Adams and 6'0 CJ Procise, whereas now you have a bunch of like 5'9, 5'10 guys, more traditional looking running backs.

Tight end room has more of a blocking prowess in 2026, I would say, than 2015.

In 2015, Durham Smythe was a good player.

I go to Notre Dame.

We have, we have Jadarian Price, Jeremiah Love, we, uh, Josh, uh, who is, who is our guy? Josh Adams, who is a Heisman finalist.

Everywhere I've ever been, I've never known a great passing attack, really other than like Sam Darnold and maybe Favre, Cousins sometimes.

So I'd love for the rushing attack to be great, but I, I, I feel like we lack this explosiveness with Mason and Aaron Jones right now.

I mean, this is a really star-studded lineup of Hall of Famers here that are going to be in town.

And what a pleasing temperature for game day.

And, you know, there was some of that attention going around.

But then you start – you talk about, but how is the defense going to look? Or, but how is the run game going to look with losing Josh Adams and an outlook on an offensive line that loses Quentin Nelson and Mike McGlinchey? There's always that kind of big but following Notre Dame.

This year, it's kind of, people are just kind of accepting that what this team is.

Now, to your point, it's a mix of either, you know, it's a mix of following and trying to be one of the cool kids or people who actually dive into the film, but it's definitely going to be interesting to see how their season plays out.
