Kushal MehraHOST
41:31
Ian Smith, sorry.
LiamGUEST
90:31
So Jonathan Trott would be a good one.
LiamGUEST
90:34
um I would say James Anderson but I feel like he's just a bit grumpy isn't he but I feel like I'd love to just meet him just to sort of say shake his hand and just go you know it's been an absolute privilege to watch him play cricket and I'm like most of the cricket community fuming at how he's been treated by England but also most recently by Lancashire um so yeah he's been one of my favourite players to watch and um Ian Bell, weirdly, again, Warwickshire, but a player I just used to love, aesthetically pleasing player, great batsman, both for my county, but also my country.
LiamGUEST
91:03
So, yeah, those would be my four.
LiamGUEST
91:05
I've given you four there, but there we go.
SophieHOST
91:09
We love that.
SophieHOST
91:09
I mean, I have to tell you a secret though, Liam.
SophieHOST
91:12
I don't know why, but Ian Bell really annoys me and he has always annoyed me.
SophieHOST
91:16
I don't know why.
Gary ShanklandHOST
20:49
So, who is the Shermanator?
Lee BoothPANELIST
20:52
That was Ian Bell's nickname given to him by Steve Wall, wasn't it? Not Steve, Shane Wall.
Gary ShanklandHOST
20:59
It was Ian Bell, correct.
Gary ShanklandHOST
21:04
DT, who was known as Pup? Michael Clarke.
Gary ShanklandHOST
21:08
Correct.
Gerard WhateleyHOST
35:12
The slider is the ball everybody's looking for.
Gerard WhateleyHOST
35:14
And Ian Bell gets embarrassingly pinned in front at one stage.
Gerard WhateleyHOST
35:18
And it's a series so good as to make Mark Nicklaus' hyperbole not seem over the top.
Gerard WhateleyHOST
35:23
No, no, no, no.
Ian HigginsHOST
108:49
He's about halfway-ish down the wicket, and he's run out.
Ian HigginsHOST
108:52
So it's a very similar thing to what happened to Ian Bell in England during a test match where Dhoni called him back during a tea break.
Ian HigginsHOST
108:57
Uh, people will remember that one if they, uh, if they haven't seen this one.
Ian HigginsHOST
109:01
It was similar.
Ian HigginsHOST
109:02
The difference there is, is that, like, the fielder in the Ian Bell run-out situation had no idea that the ball hadn't gone for four.
Ian HigginsHOST
109:10
Like, he was completely under the, uh, under the, um, [tongue click] uh-
Sam PerryHOST
109:16
Impression?
Steve HarmisonHOST
19:19
You're looking at Jonathan Trott, you look at Richard Dawson, you look at James Foster, Michael Yardy.
Steve HarmisonHOST
19:25
I'll throw Ian Bell's name in the list because I think he's doing good stuff away from English cricket.
Steve HarmisonHOST
19:30
I think Rob Key is potentially future proof, proof in English cricket's coaches from an Eng- from English shores over the course of the next four or five years to make sure the next England coach, whether it be red ball or white ball, comes from England.
Neil ManthorpHOST
19:42
Okay, before we move on, let's actually hear from Rob Key, um, during his press conference this morning, talking about the whole, uh, big picture of the coaching setup.
Jos ButtlerHOST
43:31
[laughs]
Stuart BroadHOST
43:31
Did Ian Bell-
Jos ButtlerHOST

Joe ChapmanHOST
65:27
Well, I've got to say, after the disappointment of Albion at Molineux last Sunday, it was lovely for a week later for the Bears to win the county championship title.
Joe ChapmanHOST
65:34
That definitely was a sporting soother, if you like.
Joe ChapmanHOST
65:40
Very quickly, I would say Jonathan Trott was my favourite cricketer, who was in the same kind of team as Ian Bell, who won a county championship title a number of years ago and and a one-day cup, a very, very talented player that played many years for England and probably could have played more and has moved into coaching and has done really, really well in coaching as well.
Joe ChapmanHOST
65:59
Just an all-round really good cricketer.
Joe ChapmanHOST
66:01
Somebody who just, as a batsman, you really, really value his concentration and his ability to keep his wicket and just the way he scored runs.
