Bridget Jone's Diary -

I feel as if in 2001, there were these films that came out that had female leads that were quite differently done.

So, you know, we have Miss Congeniality, we have this, we have Legally Blonde.

I think Princess Diaries came out in the same time as well.

Yeah.

They were different because they were box office hits and I feel like it definitely put women in the spotlight of green lighting films with more female leads because a string of them just ended up being successful.

So what is Bridget Jones's Diary about?

So it's loosely based off Pride and Prejudice.

It's about a 32-year-old Londoner who is not quite satisfied with her job.

She's got a good network of friends, close friends, but it's mostly about her love life.

It's about a 32-year-old finding a man.

That's more like it, I would

say.

And, yeah, so it's about Bridget Jones.

So she seems like she's a single child.

She falls in love with her boss who treats her terribly.

He's a bit of a cad.

And then she turns out the guy that she thought wasn't very good, Mr. Darcy, based off Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice, is actually a good guy.

And then they end up together.

That's it.
