There's a lot of celeb bio docs, some of them are beautiful, but a lot of them are hitting a lot of these kind of cliches and these expectations.

And the whole intention of this was to try to, and it's not new to me, it's borrowing from a beautiful long tradition of verite music documentaries, whether It's Scorsese's The Last Waltz, the Aretha Franklin doc that came out a couple years ago, Amazing Grace.

I mean, there's beautiful films.

Don't look back at the Dylan doc.

He had done In a God of DeVita.

He had done records for Aretha Franklin as an engineer for Atlantic.

He had worked with Eric Clapton.

On paper, him and I should have been just a shoe-in.

I want to have this incredible gear with history so that we can all breathe into it.

So I have a beautiful classic 68 Electrodyne board here that ZZ Top and Aretha all played on.

And then in LA, we craned out the, I just went blank on the name of my own board, 8, something with an 8.

A new book details the life and legacy of the Gay Sisters, a family group who shaped the gospel music genre.

The singers are best known for their 1951 hit record, God Will Take Care of You, which was later recorded by Aretha Franklin.

Behind the book are record label founder Stephen Dolenz and pastor Gregory Donald Gay, the younger brother of the singing group.

WBEZ producer Sophie Hernandez-Simeonides and Sun Times reporter Erica Thompson sat down with the pair.

Either way, it's not a good look for a guy that's considered to be a family-friendly entertainer in Vegas.
