Um- [laughs] So- sociologists describe our moment in history right now, they call it crowded loneliness.
That's what sociologists call it, that we're living in a time of crowded loneliness.
In other words, we're living surrounded by more people than have ever been on the face of the planet, and yet we can feel more isolated now than any other time in human history.
[laughs] We can FaceTime people on the other side of the world instantaneously.
Technology has shrunk the world significantly, and still all the surveys that they do confirm that we are the loneliest generation that has ever lived.
How crazy is that, right? You know why? 'Cause technology can connect us, but it can't replace presence.
And technology can make us feel connected, but technology cannot make us feel like we belong.
