The liturgy is a ‘permanent school’ in which the Christian soul is formed. The Mass helps us judge according to eternity, to love what is holy, and to despise what is transient. The Mass leads the Christian to order his whole life to the sacrifice of Christ. It even shapes morals and inspires the arts and customs. Radical changes to Catholic worship have severely weakened our faith and are a cause of today’s grave crisis.
