Psalms Book 3

Wow.

Well, there are some, man, can I say there, this is powerful.

Of course, I know I say that all the time, but this is just so a lot is in here.

And cause I went through there trying to pick out some verses.

Yeah, that's kind of hard.

But my first one was pure in heart.

We want to be pure in heart.

But David always talks about inclining our heart to God.

And there's so many, if you just write down how the Psalms are written toward God and ask yourself, this is like Eastern culture.

This is how they do their writing.

Like, what can I learn about God? Like in Western culture is that what is this saying to me? But really, do we want to focus on ourself or do we want to focus, they focus on God.

Like God is my shield of salvation.

He's my, they do a lot of talking about God.

And that's what I was trying to get my head around.

But whoa.

I think, I thought we've covered this before a little bit too.

Like we talk about God, but they talk, but the Eastern style is more relational, right? Like it's, so I think you made the point before, like we do the attributes of God, which there's nothing wrong with that, learning about God.

But they take it in more, there's more of that pictorial element that where you can visualize him being your shield.

That's a lot closer than, you know, God is omniscient, which is good to know.

I think we need both, but yeah.

We definitely, it's in our Western culture, we definitely go more towards that logical, let's just learn this list of facts.

But really, there's a lot of power in the relational aspect that those pictorial pictures, like what you said, he's my shield, he's my rock, he's my refuge, my refuge under his wings.

That's very, we're close.

There's a totally different feel.

to having to saying i'm under god's wing then he is all powerful or all different
