This is GREAT for the Rams…

And now, let's get into today's news.

and obviously a pretty big news day here across this Rams team.

And it really starts off with one, the Rams had a rainy practice today in September, something that I did not think I would ever say living in California my entire life.

LA area practice having heavy rain in September but Sean McVay at post practice did have some very high praise for a certain position group and that was the inside linebackers and he was mainly talking about Nate Landman and really the whole position group as a whole but Nate Landman really being that main guy that McVay was praising we're going to get to Coach McVay's words right now And that is the wrong quote there, excuse me.

But the first thing is I feel really good about that inside linebacker group, said McVay.

G-Money, inside linebacker coach Greg Williams, love the nickname, by the way, does a great job coaching these guys up.

Landman is outstanding.

I think he's had a really good camp.

He's got great ownership, communication abilities, and same thing, Omar does an amazing job with that as well.

Now...

I fully agree with the praise for Nate Landman.

I think the Nate Landman praise is very, very deserved.

Again, Josh was on the money last offseason, saying that the Nate Landman signing was going to be one of the steals of the offseason, and he was right.

Nate Landman was awesome, but it is important to note that Landman's production did sort of tail off a little bit.

As the season went on past week 11, week 12, when the Rams defense kind of took a bit of a tumble as a whole, he was fine in the playoffs.

And I do think that the extension was warranted.

Second year under the Chris Shula defensive system, I do expect a more complete season from him.

But if we do look at what Nate Landman did last season as a whole, still had an absolutely stellar season.

Again, just 2025 was a Ram.

The rest were with the Falcons.

But he did play 17 games and 132 tackles.

two and a half sacks one pick four forced fumbles ranking second 64 solo tackles 68 assisted tackles and two fumble recoveries as well ranking second four sack yards he has a good size as well at 234 pounds six foot three still just aged 27 entering year five so still kind of a young player for him as well and his 132 total tackles didn't rank 11th again Nate Landman Again, it really just forced a lot of turnovers last season for this Rams defense.

And he was a key reason why early on in the season that the Rams defense was a top 10 unit in football.

And I certainly think if the Rams want to reach their full defensive potential as being the best defense in the NFL, again, going to be tough because I'm going to give the Texans a lot of credit there when it comes to the best defense in the NFL.

But I think the Rams can get there again with the additions of Myles Garrett and Aaron Donald to this defensive line that was already great.
