Matthew Coller talks about the Indianapolis Colts firing their GM Chris Ballard and how that could affect the Minnesota Vikings chances to make trades with the Colts. Plus Matthew's list of "big fish"…
So first the Indianapolis Colts this morning, they relieve Chris Ballard of his duties as general manager.
There's a long statement from Carly Ursae, who is the owner of the Indianapolis Colts.
There is no chance that you fire your general manager because if you think you're going to keep winning.
And there is recent history to back this up, which is last year, the Miami Dolphins fired their GM, sold off everything they could get rid of, and then went from there, got rid of Mike McDaniel.
And the same thing is probably going to happen to Shane Steichen, Although, you know, I don't know if maybe they don't think that it's Shane Steichen's fault, but I think it's probably everybody's fault.
But either way, they fire the GM, this team he put together, the money he spent.
the quarterback that he decided to bring back after a very, very small sample of success.
I saw someone tweet today where it was like, yeah, I mean, Daniel Jones had played 70 games outside of Indianapolis, but that nine was probably the truth, right? I mean, Daniel Jones has turned right back into the, Daniel Jones for the Colts.
And then the final straw is them losing to the Titans, which basically said, you are not a contender.
You are just a team that needs to be torn all the way down and built all the way back up.
