Is showing up an hour early to a garage sale rude, or the only way to win? 👀 In Episode 518 of the Pure Hustle Podcast, Mike and Orlando are joined by Tim (Selling With Tim) for Discord Dialogue to…
Mike, how are things for you?
Yeah.
I mean, things have been going great.
Uh, reselling, I, I, I have, I have excitement again about reselling.
I feel like you go in phases, especially when it's a side hobby, um, or a side hustle, I guess I should say.
Mm.
Um, there's, there's times when, you know, I'm doing financially well enough, like, I can kind of just coast, go into garage sales when I see them and every so often and, um, you know, I pur- recently purchased a new car and, and, and bought a new house, a much bigger house, and I'm still doing perfectly fine financially, but I'm under more of a bind than I used to be.
Like, I used to just have, you know, money flowing, and now it's a little bit tighter, and so that is one of those things that lights a fire under you.
I think there's nothing better, I feel like, for driving somebody forward than pressure, right? Like, I mean, you're either gonna break under pressure or you're gonna excel, and I, I find, like, having that motivation, having something that's forcing you to move forward, and of course that's why discipline is king.
You know, if you are disciplined in it, then it doesn't really matter how you're feeling, it's just something you do.
Um, I'm disciplined in a lot of areas of my life, but, um, listing and, and doing all those things isn't one of those areas I've been the most disciplined at.
But now with, like, Vindit, which, you know, we talk about on the podcast, our AI lister, um, with, you know, having a little bit more immediate, like, there's immediacy to, like, needing to, to, to make a little bit more and be a little bit more successful.
It just pushes you, and once you get going and you have that, that momentum, it just feels great.
And unfortunately we got rained out this week.
We've got a ton of, like, a huge storm just came through Central Texas, uh, came up through the Gulf and, and it just, you know, devas- I mean, I guess it wasn't devastating to my area, but it was, you know, devastating as a reseller because it just rained f- several inches for several days.
And, you know, not being able to go to garage sale stinks, and I personally don't love doing estate sales when garage sales are, are rained out because you, I feel like the competition goes way up.
Because all the people who would normally go into garage sales, they're going to those estate sales.
And so I always try and make those my pivot days, and that's when I'm going to be listing death piles, you know, putting Vindit to, to work.
Uh, that's when I'm gonna be reorganizing my inventory, checking my bookkeeping, making sure everything is going good.
So that's how I spent this last weekend.
Uh, you know, I organized my attic.
I got a bunch of stuff moved up there.
I reorganized a lot of my inventory, got a whole bunch of listings done, and it just feels good to be, to having that momentum to be moving forward.
Um, I did have a couple of recent, um, you know, bummer issues where I had to do some returns.
So at a recent garage sale I picked up a, um, a, a radar gun for, like, baseball.
Mike, how are things for you?
Yeah.
