The first race of the night was the men's 1500 metres freestyle fastest heat race.
He backs up his Brewster's title from 20-25, and this time sets a big new personal best in this race, racing away from Alex Sargent in the last 500 metres.
Yeah, it was actually quite competitive all the way through to about 1,000 metres, and then Rhys did make his move from that mark, and it was an early lead from Luke Hornsey as well.
Yeah, quite competitive, actually, but then Rhys Grady showed his class towards the end and qualifies for the England team when it comes to Commonwealth Games, so a massive performance from him.
yeah we'll probably have a conversation after these championships are done he he is another one of those swimmers who is out in the states and has come on backed up at these championships so far i know there were question marks heading in with could charlie hutchinson do it could eva caro do it well everyone's fired so far who raced at ncaa's who's been over in america um conversation to be had but i mean it doesn't mean that's the correct path or the only path because there's a lot of the performance center swimmers who are firing as well which we'll get to well now done women's 50 meters backstroke lauren cox wins this one in a 27.39 um no british record but she's qualified in both the 100 and 50 meters backstroke and pressures off she's into the european championships into the commonwealth games um yeah really a kind of a job done week for lauren

I think she said in the interview that she was happy with her swims, and probably rightly so.
Just fractions off her personal best.
And you're right, box ticks, I guess.
Maybe, I think from our point of view, maybe spectator point of view, we were all kind of hoping for a British record.
So, disappoints from that point of view, but I think ultimately she still won by near enough a second.
She's the dominant force when it comes to 15-meter backstroke.
Do you know what I took away from this? It was a brilliant bronze from Mehdi Harris.
Great to see her back and back on the podium as well.
But really, Lauren should get all the applause at the CS.
She is the dominant force, like I said.
