Others believe it's an excuse to try to get away with morally and legally questionable decisions, and in some cases, outright illegalities.
But no one could stop talking about the sudden raid of Representative Ilhan Omar, a Minnesota Democrat.
This morning's raid of Ilhan Omar's house demands a level of intellectual honesty that I'm not sure our government is aware of.
And we need to be real honest about what happened this morning because I don't want to go back to the age of McCarthyism.

Okay, show us the receipts.
When you take the step of rating a congressperson's home, which is what happened this morning in Washington, D.C., the home of Ilhan Omar, was rated by federal authorities, you better damn well have some pretty solid receipts.
That's right.
And we may see that in the next hour, in the next day, whatever it is.
But to your point, based on the track record of this government... time and time again not having receipts and doing things and pursuing prosecutions of political opponents, they don't have them.
So, again, I could be proven wrong.
Again, in the next hour we could see it's apparently an immigration-related raid.
That's right.
And we could see evidence that says this was justified.
But, again, based on the track record of this federal government, I'm not going to hold my breath.
Now, here's what we know, because we're going to deal in facts right now.
And by the way, our newsroom, Gracie was just in here.
Now, according to the DOJ, this is part of an ongoing criminal fraud investigation into paperwork filed when Ilhan Omar entered this country as a refugee.
And she was just a child.
