Christine HooverGuestYou know, my excuse for seasons where I've done it wrong has always been, well, you know, I was adopted by a SWAT cop.
How am I supposed to be as a mom? Of course I'm going to be overprotective.
Okay, the tension is sometimes being a loving mom looks like stepping in for your kids.
Now, some of this is like age and stage, right? When they're little like baby James, of course, I'm stepping in day and night.
And maybe you are Amazon woman mom and you're like, yeah, I let them fall down and get themselves back up.
I'm not good at that.
I'm like a softie.
The hard part for a mom like me sometimes is stepping back, but for a stronger and internally stronger mom, sometimes the hard part isn't knowing which one to do in that moment.
You know, I talk about this all the time, but it's like, I don't think you know this until you become a mom.
Cause like, I think that people who aren't moms yet just view parenting as pretty simple and they see kind of anti-examples and they're like, oh, I don't want to do it that way.
