Pacers Fans Have EVERY REASON To Believe... | Daily Indiana Pacers News & Rumors

So number one, when asked about getting Halliburton back this season, Carlisle reflected on just how significant he is to the success of this team.

You don't realize how important one player can be until you are without that player for a significant period of time, Carlisle said.

And in this case, our team is very much built as an ecosystem with all the parts really dependent of one another.

Our dynamic is incredible, by the way.

Carlisle continued by pointing back to the Pacers' previous playoff success and what made those teams special.

It's one of the beauties of our team during the two years we had successful playoff runs.

is that we're built as a true team and we all need to function at the best possible level within the system.

And everybody needs to start in their role.

Just like what Joel said in the fan comments, everybody knows their role.

They appreciate their role.

They know where they fit in and they perform at a high level within that role.

Just like what Rick Carlisle just said.

So, Number two, Carlisle didn't hide his excitement about what the Veterans Center can bring to Indiana, calling Zubat one of the top centers in the game while acknowledging that his skill set will definitely force the Pacers to play differently.

Here's what Rick had to say.

His game is different, Carlisle said.

He brings some different strengths to our team that are unique to how we've been structured in the past, and there are other aspects of his that will make our thing look a little bit different this season.

So Carlisle praises his basketball IQ, rebounding physicality, passing ability to create pressure under the basket.

But the most interesting part at the end of his answer, came at the end of his answer.

He will create a different kind of rim pressure than we've ever had before.

So we've re-engineered some things offensively to suit what we believe his best skills are.

Love that.

Absolutely love that.

We knew that when we got Zu, we would have to change things up a little bit.

Obviously, Zu only played a handful of games before he got hurt and was out the remainder of the season.

So being able to orchestrate all that throughout the offseason with his coaching staff, get it figured out, and now getting it on the court is massive, especially for training camp as we approach preseason game one next Wednesday, a week from tonight, against Minnesota.
