... they're going through it right now, I mean, in my opinion, with the whole-

... like offer sheet with Philadelphia, that whole thing, and then now Cutter Gauthier just turned down, uh, some money.

What do you think about this? Because in my opinion, some people are saying, like they shouldn't have offer sheeted Leo.

Um, but what do you think of it? 'Cause how are they gonna keep Cutter? 'Cause there's some rumors that he might be out.

Pat Verbeek like had to match the offer sheet that Philadelphia offered Leo Carlsson.

Um, also the momentum that Anaheim built this year after years and years of missing the playoffs and going through a rebuild and trying to find young talent like Leo Carlsson, like Cutter Gauthier, like, you know, Jackson MacCombe on the back end.

They have these guys now who, you know, were hopefully that next wave of superstars in Anaheim like they had back in the day with Getzlaf and Perry when they were going to Stanley Cup Finals, Selanne, um, all those guys.

He probably should've extended Leo Carlsson as soon as he could've, um, a year ago like they did with Jackson MacCombe last year.

MacCombe I think has like a $9 million contract over, I wanna say eight years, um, which he locked in going into this season, and sometimes GMs like wait it out because they think a player will get cheaper.

This is one of those scenarios where you gotta pay the guy 'cause they're never gonna get cheaper.

Pat Verbeek's known to play a little bit of hardball, and Cutter Gauthier's playing that game right back with him, and I, I think they have to find a way to make Cutter Gauthier work.

Uh, he did turn down $13 million, which is a lot of money, and right now I think they only have like 9 million in cap space, so they're gonna have to clear up like another six or seven if they wanna fit Cutter, but that's what they gotta do to keep him.
