All right, so that is, I thought, a pretty powerful explanation from Dr. Hammond.

Now, when he's talking about the judgment of violating an oath, swearing an oath before God, we're talking about the God of the Bible.

You go to Jeremiah 34, around verse 18, where God talks about those who transgress a covenant where he says, and I will give the men that have transgressed my covenant, which have not performed the words of the covenant, which they had made before me when they cut the calf in twain and passed between the parts thereof.

And so the symbolism of that, of the cutting the calf in half and passing between the parts in the Old Testament, that was a symbol when two people swore an oath or a covenant or something together, that you had to perform the complete oath.

And if you did not perform it, then you would be cut asunder like the calf that the two people are walking in between.

So the calf was a symbol that you've got to perform the oath from the beginning to the end.

That's why for a king to swear an oath to fulfill certain responsibilities, if he violated that oath, he was held accountable.

That's why our forefathers fought the American Revolution, because King George III, they believed, violated his oath.

And probably some would argue for 2000 years until probably somewhere around the 80s and 90s.

Now, Buckingham Palace has released official declarations to the effect that King Charles is the defender of faiths in the plural sense.

I mean, here's a Christian today.com says former, former Queens chaplain, King Charles has betrayed his faith office and subjects.
