Basic Marian apologetics, the first three dogmas.

This talk was given by David Rodriguez in the summer of two thousand and twenty-six in Gorham, Maine.

Using scripture and reason, it helps us explain the first three Marian dogmas the church proclaimed infallibly to Protestants we know and Catholics who might be unfamiliar with these teachings.

Ultimately, all Marian truths serve to safeguard the truths about who her son, Jesus Christ, is, as well as the realities of who man is and who he is destined to be.

All honor given to Mary, in truth, redounds to the greater glory and honor of God.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

I consequently reject with indignation the modern tendency to diminish the privileges of the Most Blessed Virgin under pretext of ecumenical prudence, of dialogue with false religions, or from a fallacious fear of obscuring the unique redemptive mediation of Jesus Christ.

To weaken Marian doctrine is not to honor Christ better.

It is to misunderstand the order willed by God.

And I would say it even stronger.

I would say it is to not believe in the order willed by God.

But the text here is, "It is to misunderstand the order willed by God, who wished to come to us through Mary and to lead us to Himself through her." Again, the text says, "To weaken Marian doctrine is not to honor Christ better." I would paraphrase that and say, to weaken Marian doctrine is to dishonor Christ.

It's to dishonor Him and to lack faith in Him and in who He truly is.
