Season 2, Episode 1: Every New Beginning Comes From Some Other Beginning’s End

Well, anyway, let's start diving into kind of the settling process here in Belgium.

And let's begin with kind of the initial arrival.

And it was a staggered arrival for us.

You came first.

You came for about a week.

And then T and I, we came a week later.

So you had that week to kind of come in and have some time at the school.

Yeah, it was mainly because, so I came in on a Monday and I started work on Wednesday.

We worked Wednesday, Thursday.

We had Friday, Monday off.

Saturday and Sunday, I thought were going to be times to get the apartment ready because I could move in on Saturday.

Nope.

Saturday was a holiday and everything was closed.

And it turns out everything is closed on Sundays too, except the grocery stores.

and they're not open the same amount of hours.

So my desire to have things set up so that T and Nick could come and we could move right into the apartment, no. Nope, nope, nope.

Well, and also things were kind of complicated that first week for you because they were having a heat wave here.

Oh, man.

It was so hot.

Yeah.

And it was, I mean, it wasn't Dubai, but it was not what you expect coming into Belgium.

Now, they've been having heat waves off and on all summer.

So we had read about it.

We knew it was happening.

I had all the clothes for it.
