Longevity has become one of the biggest buzzwords in wellness, but how much of it is actually backed by science? Dr. Sladana Pavlovic is an Internal Medicine specialist at HealthBay focused on…
Sladana PavlovicGuestMary-AnneHostand again like longevity as we know is everywhere at the moment with wellness being as big as it is what's longevity techniques apart from kind of like the real basics that we know about sleep eating well etc what other things are you working with or suggesting to your patients at the moment that are actually backed by evidence

That's a very crucial point that you're mentioning because evidence is very important.

And I think it's very, very important that we stick to the evidence-based approach when it comes to longevity because it is part of medicine and medicine should be evidence-based and needs to be evidence-based.

because at the end of the day, it's about the patient's health, right? It is not as glamorous as it sounds.

So we have sleep patterns, stress management, muscle preservation, muscle mass preservation.

And then, of course, we can get into the biomarkers when it comes to lipid management, glucose management, optimization of our metabolic parameters in general.

And then You know, we have a tailored approach with every patient where we assess the risk factors, the individual risk factors, but then also the family risk where we can go into a more detailed approach when it comes to longevity and just extending health span or improving the health all over.
And what are the longevity trends that you see patients trying that you wish they didn't try that concern you?

So main concern, I would say, is just the indiscriminate use of supplements, peptide stacks, hormones.

You know, I have so many patients, they get some peptides off the black market, which is really scary because, you know, we don't know about the purification process.

Sometimes we don't even know the dosages and then we don't know the effects and the side effects.

So this is very scary and I would really warn everybody to get any kind of medication, you know, online or in black market and, you know, unsupervised, medically unsupervised administration of these kind of pharmaceuticals.
peptides is a huge area of interest at the moment and is really trending And I've tried peptides.
A lot of people I know have tried peptides.
