Let's start off today with doing, I want you to give us a bit of an elevator pitch about yourself.

Give us like a bit of a rundown about who you are, name, pronouns, what your life is, what you do.

Because I feel like everyone should jump right in to hearing about the wonderful world that you have made.

So I'm Laura.

My pronouns are she and her.

Just in case anyone needs a visual description, I am an Italian woman in her early 30s.

I am sitting in my glorious power wheelchair, Maria.

Maria Lucia, to be exact.

She's named after both my nonnas.

And I am wearing red pants and a T-shirt that says Readers and Writers Against the Genocide because we are all about a free Palestine.

And I'm also wearing a watermelon hat, which is my favorite accessory of all time.

And...

What else about me? Oh my God, I'm a cat mum.

But more importantly, I think, or like why I'm here, I am a disabled writer, speaker and accessible communications professional and immersive bookworm.

I... run my own accessible communications business called All for Access, which gives me so much joy because accessible information is for everyone.

And I also had the enormous privilege of co-editing and contributing to an anthology of disabled writing called Crip Stories, which came out through New South Publishing in April this year and was literally a dream come true for me.

I love that introduction.
