JasonHOST
Quick disclaimer.
JasonHOST
Should we comment on the author of a fanfiction, we are simply using context clues based on the content of the fanfiction being read.
JasonHOST
These comments are speculative and not meant to be insulting or judgmental towards the author.
JasonHOST
Similarly, any statements or opinions read as part of the fanfictions do not necessarily represent the values of the hosts.
MicahHOST

MattHOST
Out of context, bro, this actually sounds like a fanfiction.
MattHOST
You said Greg
EleanorHOST
Right, right, right, right, right.
EleanorHOST
What's indisputable is that Game Changer, in its basic form, was up on a fan fiction site for a while.
EleanorHOST
Now, she claims she'd been working on this story for a while.
EleanorHOST
She couldn't make it work.
EleanorHOST
you.
EleanorHOST
Yes.
EleanorHOST
But then whether, whether it started off as an original story became a fan fiction and then became an original fiction again, or whether I suspect that it actually started as a fan fiction because it's basically a coffee shop AU and, If nobody knows what a coffee...
EleanorHOST
If people don't know what a coffee shop is, within fan fiction, there are these story tropes and stories...
Ned BeaumanHOST
But I thought we'd start by sort of going back to the beginning of your writing.
Ned BeaumanHOST
So I read that you began by writing Star Wars fan fiction.
Ned BeaumanHOST
Is that correct?
Munir HachemiGUEST
Yeah, that's something a friend of mine said, and it's technically correct, yes.
Ned BeaumanHOST
I was interested in that because I feel like a lot of the time when people write fan fiction is because they feel like something is missing from this universe that they really like.
Ned BeaumanHOST
So was there something specific missing from the Star Wars universe that you wanted to put into
Munir HachemiGUEST
it? Well, I don't know.
Munir HachemiGUEST
I think that's a very good reason to write fan fiction.
Sonido ReyesGUEST
It just was like I got like bullied for like being like dumb, quote unquote, you know.
Sonido ReyesGUEST
And so it wasn't until like I got out of school that as an adult, I started like getting into fan fiction and.
Sonido ReyesGUEST
um and it kind of like removed the shame aspect because you don't have to be like smart to do fan fiction there's no there's no expectation that you're like you know suit like you get an a plus um so I kind of started doing that um reading it for fun first and then I started writing it um because I started getting all these story ideas and like my favorite characters were just like
J.F. GarrardHOST
I wanted to put them in situations.
Sonido ReyesGUEST
And I think it just kind of like unlocked the fun part of writing for me.
Sonido ReyesGUEST
And then I decided to write something original.
Sonido ReyesGUEST
This was back when National Novel Writing Month was really big.
Sonido ReyesGUEST
Some of my fan fiction friends were doing it and they told me I should try it.
Ty Dane GonzalezHOST
So obviously, we just launched our website, ahoybaseball.com.
Ty Dane GonzalezHOST
I built that so you guys could have an all-in-one place to send us your Mailbag Monday questions and Fan Fiction Friday trades.
Ty Dane GonzalezHOST
And I also made it because, frankly, it makes mine and Colby's life much easier.
Ty Dane GonzalezHOST
And that was the intention behind this as well.
8 MINS LATER
Ty Dane GonzalezHOST
And any prospects that you add via trade that are not on a team's 40-man roster will go into this pool automatically.
Ty Dane GonzalezHOST
You can also sort the roster by position.
Ty Dane GonzalezHOST
So as you can see here, if I click infield, it'll show you all the infielders we have on the roster, all the outfielders, etc., So now we get into the trade builder, and this is like the trade builder that we have on the Fan Fiction Friday page over on AhoyBaseball.com.
Ty Dane GonzalezHOST
Here, this one is a little bit different.
Nina ConcepcionHOST
That's where we met.
Nina ConcepcionHOST
I was doing a piece about, um, this time I wrote a load of the rings fan fiction when I was 13 and I got absolutely obliterated all line by tulkin heads they destroyed my 13 year old self um so i was doing that piece and you were doing a cape uh k drama piece yeah yeah i did one on crash

Nina ConcepcionHOST
on there.
Nina ConcepcionHOST
And so then I recently went back on my Tumblr.
Nina ConcepcionHOST
I was like really deep into it reading like, you know, Mandalorian fan fiction reading.
Nina ConcepcionHOST
I mean, people write like his people write fan fiction about his SNL character, the one that eats the wings.
Anderson CowanHOST
And I had high hopes for this movie.
Anderson CowanHOST
An adventure C film, like the listener said in Fanfiction.
Anderson CowanHOST
It's got everything that
AveryPANELIST
I... 72 is what it's sitting at.
MaureenHOST
This is the first time I was like, I just want to write about how sad their brothers would be.
MaureenHOST
Because if I was reading these books at 12, I would have logged right into fanfiction.net.
BrennaHOST
Yeah, so that's good.
BrennaHOST
Anyway,
