Meatsauce and Maxx Fuller react to the Vikings 23-13 win over the Saints See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
We all saw that the offense was off for, you know, pretty much every game before, prior to this, and it, it kinda seemed like they were almost asking Kyler to do stuff that w- wasn't really his style.
He wants us to say things are bonds and cheeks, or that they wail, uh, yell about it, and then throw to Sunday Night Football.
It feels like him and Kyler finally kind of got in sync with each other's psyche.
He sure- it seemed like KOC shortened up the playbook a little bit, quicker designed plays, utilized the middle of the field a lot more often, uh, and just in general, yeah, I mean, Justin Jefferson being back was...
I mean, how, how good is he, dude? He just changes absolutely everything for this offense, opens up things underneath, and then obviously, eventually, uh, you know he's gonna get loose.
Did anyone have any doubt that we would see a, a Griddy in New Orleans today? We all knew he was gonna be extra motivated, not just because he missed the game last week, but he- it's his first time playing in front of his hometown, uh, fa- friends and family and whatnot, and that, I mean, that's one of the best catches we've seen in Vikings history.
Yeah.
Triple covered, still makes the catch, and he just, his, him being back just changes absolutely everything for this team.
And yeah, clearly and, and obviously and by far the best game that we've seen from Kyler Murray, uh, thus far, man.
I, I'm sure we'll get to it, but man, his, his escapability adds a whole different dimension to this offense.
I mean, he ran for 51 yards, and the thing that I thought was outstanding that we saw a lot of, and they mention it on the, uh, TV copy, was the Vikings were continuously in third and short.
And I think Drew Brees said it was, like, seven of their third downs were third and short.
That's what Aaron Jones brings by averaging four and a half yards a carry, and the escapability is, uh, uh, of Kyler Murray, as you said, was just outstanding, man.
He extended so many plays.
The one that got knocked away by the really stupid penalty where they ended up kicking the field goal, but man, they had, they had so many opportunities today on third and short, and that kept the game manageable.
That's all you hear all the time from some of these teams is We just wanna get to third and four and shorter because then we don't have to be one-dimensional and pass, right? So, and they did that.
They were just awesome today on third down.
They were just awesome in every aspect except the turnovers.
