What happens when two curious people sit down and explore creativity, vulnerability, fitness, therapy, podcasting, and the fear of putting yourself out there? In this conversation, David and I…
So do you, uh...
What, what are your thoughts on all that?
I agree.
I agree whole, wholeheartedly, man.
Um, I, [clears throat] I struggle a lot with the whole overthinking.
Mm-hmm.
I get kind of up in the, in the planning phase, that they call it, rather than actually executing.
Mm-hmm.
But something that I've just been learning more and more as I've gotten older is that there is no, there is no right moment.
You just kinda gotta, you gotta do it.
You gotta test things, see what happens.
You've gotta put yourself up against that fear, and at least for me, that fear is, um, a fear of being seen, fear of being seen-
Mm-hmm
... fear of acknowledged, if you will.
Um, let's see how many times I do air quotes in this, this episode.
[laughs]
You got to, you got to.
Yeah.
But, uh, yeah, for me, it's the, it's the overthinking and the fear of being seen and just, you know, um, oh, what if someone doesn't agree with an opinion that I put out there? Or what if I say something, and, uh, it's, it's just kind of, um, you know, like a, with- without really thinking, and then someone, you know, gloms onto that and being like, "Oh, whatever, whatever." You know, how would I deal with that kind of hate? But at the end of the day, no one, uh...
Who, who, who, who am I? You know? Who, who am I? So, like, no one's really going to probably pay attention.
I don't mean...
I don't wanna, like, belittle myself or, like, kinda say that-
Yeah
... you know, or anything like that.
What I mean is, like, I'm, I'm small enough that no one really, you know, cares, again, the air quotes.
So do you, uh...
