Today we have the privilege of listening to a shiur of Rava from the fourth century.

So Rava and Abaye, as you know, are the people who really innovated a whole new approach to the discourse of the Talmud, of the Gemara.

And it's an approach that we follow virtually un-until today, whereas until the time of Abaye and Rava, each school of thought followed the tradition of their own teachers.

From the time of Abaye and Rava, they started critically analyzing diverse approaches and, and methods and reasoned and questioned and developed a, an overarching approach out of that multifaceted, uh, Talmudic discourse that they created.

So Abaye and Rava are very, very important.

Rava is particularly important when it comes to Halakha, because in many-- most cases, we pasken like him.

And here he gives a very brief shiur.

We've only got the brief notes from the shiur.

But, uh, as we'll see, the shiur unpacking the-- with the help of the Rashbo.

It's interesting how since meeting the Rashbo in Barcelona, he's become such an intimate part of our, of our shiur.

And so the Rashbo will help us unpack the shiur of, of Rava and, and help us understand an idea that we've been developing right through Masechet Chulin.
