2026 Men's U.S. Open Final Bet! Zverev vs. Shelton!

I pick up the Shelton minus the games.

We went both sides there.

Steve takes the L with Tiafoe, and, uh, we lost the Hachanov stuff in pretty frustrating fashion, I have to say, as he had a set point on serve that would've cashed the over.

[lip smacks] I mean, it wasn't guaranteed to cash, but likely would've cashed the over, uh, at with the two breaker sets.

I think we only need one game to get there.

Frustrating.

Did you watch the Zverev Hachanov match, John?

I did, and I feel like I'm watching it all over again, um, as I split-screen the women's final and Thiago Seyboth Wild's playing against Matej Dodig.

You know, Sabalek's return game against quality players has fallen off a cliff.

Zverev had a tough time on return.

Hachanov couldn't return for anything, and Thiago Seyboth Wild might be the, the worst clay court s- like clay court-centric returner I've seen in a long time.

Although he was fixing it a little bit.

And you know what? [laughs] I don't expect much different from the men's final, if I'm being honest.

I'm not saying it, it, it's going to be server oriented.

I'm saying don't expect it to be super entertaining with a ton of high-quality returning because Tiafoe's serve isn't involved, right? That's something that helped Ben, and I, I thought Ben's, not necessarily adjustments, but his finally realizing, "Hey, just get into points.

This guy's serve is eminently returnable." Amazing what happens after that.

He wins the next three sets by an eight-game margin.

Like, where has this Ben Shelton been for years? Someone was like, "Oh, apologize to him, you coward, for the way you tweeted about him during the Alcaraz match." No.

Screw you.

Understand one thing: it doesn't change the past.

He was terrible against Alcaraz.

Alcaraz couldn't move, nor could he serve.

He was playing at 50% max, 60% max.

He needed a f- a, a fifth set match tie break, or super tie break, pardon me, not match tie break.

A super tie break.
