Bianca Andreescu

In NHL action, the Florida Panthers beat the Winnipeg Jets 5-2 while Calgary defeated Seattle 6-2.

And Canada's Bianca Andreescu has advanced to the semifinals at the Queretaro Open in Mexico.

From the Canadian Press, I'm Lisa Laporte.

Thanks for listening.

And I also wanted to also give a shout-out.

I forgot to do this last week, but we talk about winning, mattering, and just quickly, Bradley, it was cool to see at lower levels both Sloane Stephens and Bianca Andreescu win titles.

So, yeah, they're trying to build back up.

They're out here, and, yeah, it's not easy to win anything any week, so props to them.

Yeah, it was an energy like I've never seen.

And look, we've seen Bianca Andreescu, a Canadian, win the tournament here.

We've seen Serena Williams play her last Canadian stop here, what we thought was her last Canadian stop.

I've been to many matches with a lot of buzz, and there was something different about that crowd cheering for her.

You're listening to She's Got Game on the TSN radio network.

It's an extraordinary debut, Bianca Andreescu.

A lot of people say no to me because I was a girl.

And boys, move over.

We've also had Naomi Osaka do that.

We've had Bianca Andreescu, who, shout out to her, winning the 125 last week and making a little bit of a comeback, we hope.

We want to see her back on our screens as well.

And then also Vicky Mboko, who did that in Canada last year.

So I did a, one more I'm going to mention.

Years ago, before they became Grand Slam winners, Cannon and Andreescu in Mexico.

Oh, I remember that match.

High quality match.

Just as we wrap, Canadian side Gabby Dabrowski winning back-to-back titles at the China Open and the Wuhan Open with Louisa Stefani.

And here's a shout, our former US Open champion Bianca Andreescu went out and won a 125k in Italy.

I think Bianca could get back to the top 100.

I'm keeping, you know, obviously the comparison to a British player is Bianca compared to Emma Raducanu, both US Open champions who have just not been able to put it together since.

Sloane Stephens.

And Bianca Andreescu.

And Bianca Andreescu.

Excuse me, you don't think I was more excited about Bianca Andreescu winning a 125 than I was the Wuhan results? No, I'm a BB diehard.

I love that girl.

Here we go.
