Yeah.

And now we have the best women playing each other basically every, every major, whether that's a Pegula-Gauff match in Wimbledon or whether that's a repeat Rybakina-Sabalenka final of a major.

It just makes me tremendously happy.

And the men's, kind of a mess, [laughs] in the best possible way.

YeahAnd that sort of stuff.

Yeah, I mean, I was very pleasantly surprised over the last few months that the cream has risen to the top on many occasions in women's tennis.

Did we expect a Noskova to win, uh, Wimbledon? No.

But this is somebody who also won in Berlin, and so she had beaten great players to get there, like Pegula and et cetera, et cetera.

Um, I, I, I wanna talk about him as, and his, his role in the, in optimization culture, 'cause to me it's, it's fascinating to see his transformation.

But, um, I felt like I was looking more at what people were wearing at Wimbledon this year than US Open.

Like, did you feel like the fashion on and off the court, what did you think about what people were actually wearing?

Well, at the US Open, a lot of guests are wearing tennis outfits, which I find strange.

I wore shorts and a button down.

But there is a lot of this sort of, like, Gossip Girl-esque dressing.

And I've only been to the, to Wimbledon once.

I went last year.

12 seasons times four, minus one.

Wimbledon 2020.

Uh, what, what's 47 more, really?

That's 12 more years.

Yeah, yeah.

Of course, easier said than done, but, uh, you know, getting her to the net works.

She's definitely improved her net game a lot since winning Wimbledon.

However, you can still catch her, you know, kind of in no man's land up there.

This was an invention of Marshall trying to come up with something for Patton to do, and so they didn't have to fire him after the slapping incident.

"Let's send him around all over the Mediterranean, and then they bring him to England, and the Germans will be worried about it." And, y- you know, to, in some, one biographer writes that the German watched him go back and forth like spectators at a Wimbledon match.

It was fully made up.

Number two is that Patton was not in charge of Operation Fortitude.

But this is in open play.

And when you hear about a fella scoring from near the halfway line, you're thinking Beckham, Wimbledon, you're thinking Alupin.

Keeper's done something wrong, yeah.

Keeper way out of his line.

It's a number of ingredients that are gonna go into making them all successful and great players ultimately.

I tell you what makes me laugh is when, uh, if I, if I watch things like Wimbledon, if I watch the Open Championship-

... things like that, and, you know, there's always that, there's that Cinderella story in there of somebody who's coming through, and I think we had it this year at Wimbledon where there was a British player coming through the r- coming through the stages.

Yeah.

And then they, and then they'll pick the Open, and maybe a couple of years have gone past where one of the amateurs has really pressed on and done really, really well in it.

right and i stayed up till three in the morning watching it because i'm an idiot but you're a tennis family i'm one of you know the very small amount of people that will do that and again living in a tennis family and we don't even watch the men's final because we want to watch football

Isn't the solution that you have from the end of Wimbledon, like on July 5th, 10th, whatever it is, all the way to week one to put the U.S. Open? You could put it literally anywhere in late August and early September.

Agree.

Flip with that stupid Cincinnati Open.

I-I-It's the only tennis match that I will watch.

Like, Wimbledon's okay, but the time's off.

So, like, you know, the, the games are-- the matches, I should say, are, are played at, like, nine o'clock in the morning.

All right? The US Open and Australian Open, which is another [laughs] major, is played at, like, three o'clock in the morning.

You could call it a kind of sprawl or a relaxedness.

But it's the relaxedness of, say, the top flight tennis player at Wimbledon who has to serve well.

Serving, as you may know, is the most difficult part of tennis.

To play tennis well, you need to be strangely relaxed.
