1142 - Before You Fight the Temptation, Find the Wound Underneath It

There's another story.

I talked to this, this CIA agent, um, Who was like, dude, this guy was like one of the baddest dudes on the planet.

You know, former special forces went into the CIA, done crazy stuff in his life.

And I'm talking to him about meekness and he stops me and he goes, dude, you keep using the word surrender when you talk about meekness.

That's a good word.

I think there's actually a better word, though.

He tells me this story about when it was like the early 1990s.

And he gets dropped in Afghanistan.

And this is, dude, CIA is so gnarly.

Like, they'll drop you in a country, and they're like, if you die, we don't know you.

You know, like, never happened, you know? So you have to be really attuned to what the Lord's saying.

So they drop him in Afghanistan.

And at this point in history, we're actually supporting the Taliban.

So the Russians are invading Afghanistan.

We're supporting the Taliban to fight them.

And so...

he was telling me, he's like, man, I'm trying to train these Taliban fighters and they've got, you know, these little guns and they're trying to, you know, operate these little guns and these, you know, Muslim men.

And, uh, they're like goat herders and stuff.

And, and dude, he's like, they would hear the buzzing of a helicopter.

And it was like Pavlov's dog.

They would all sprint outside into the open field and start popping off shots with their little guns at this like massive Chinook helicopter as it starts raining.

They give away their position, starts raining down fire on them.

And they did not care.

And he's like, after like five times of this happening where I'm, I'm screaming, I'm like, get behind a rock.

Like what, what are you doing? Like all these dudes, these, all these Muslims, Muslim men at once run outside.
