So I love that because there's a number of things, movement, that I quickly want to unpack.
One was this whole movement of recognizing that you were called by Christ to come closer in relationship with him.
And so unpack all the sacraments of initiations and recognizing that it's a communal call, right, as you said, in your life.
cohort of people preparing for sacraments whether baptisms or other sacraments of initiations this this powerful recognition of the power of the community which I think it's so important right because when we step back and you think about just briefly even is know we we people are so uh passionate about a lot of things but those things a lot of times also are uh would uh bring some sense of division but in the church you kind of have everybody right you have people who are passionate about uh protecting the earth and people who are equally passionate about being pro-life you have people who are passionate about rights of the workers and you have people who are passionate equally about creating um you know and establishing private companies and giving employment all right you have it all of it and what i love about it is that we might not be perfect in it but we bring everybody in And there's something really powerful about it.
And it is by us spending time with one another, learning about one another, that we start seeing beyond just one element of our interest.
Yes, I think it would be easy to see, oh, our interests are different, where what we're pouring ourselves into on a daily basis might be different.
So let's not try to be in communion with one another.
And I think this is foundationally the common ground we have here in the church, right?
And what I love is, again, before you guys head out to begin the 30s ministries, is this big recognition in your life into the service, right? You're very much passionate about the service to people here in the neighborhood and across the city.
Why do you feel this strong calling to serve the poor, to show up for others? And what have you recognized in doing it with other people in the community? Because maybe some people listening to us are like, you know, I should do something, but I don't know where to start.
uh but that's so striking that since you arrived that was like right away the service was such an important part of your calling
