I've sort of like... had to slowly come to terms with the fact that i love performing and i love putting music out because i feel that i have over the course of my career sort of built up this um fallacy that you like shouldn't get your hopes up as an artist like don't expect too much because you know the business is struggling and like when I started in music business the first thing anyone ever told me as I was signing a record deal was like you know there's no money here So I was like, okay, I still signed it because I want to sign record deals.
So
I've started over the last year trying to develop a more hopeful philosophy that isn't like, geez, we're screwed.
What is this? You know, which is fair enough that a lot of people have that mentality in the music business right now.
I don't know anything that gives me a better feeling in terms of satisfaction than like performing.
