I would do shows in Minneapolis after he passed and his parents would come out and his mother, Mary, would ask me, do you think there's anything we could have done? And as an addict, it's really hard to tell this woman You know, when I was really bad, there were people in my life who were crying and saying, I don't want you to die.

Bill Hicks was really like that.

Mitch Hedberg was like that.

They were just like, I'm going to settle so deep into what I'm doing right now.

And I don't care.

And that's a very different thing.

Like if you're trying to do Todd Berry and just be... joke after joke after joke or even somebody like mark norman who can do you know tons of jokes back to back or even you go back in history and you look at like mitch hedberg or even david tell right like those guys who are just bam bam bam bam joke after joke it's
