Jul 23, 2026 · 1 hr 39 min · 13 segments
Thank you for joining us for this month of July! We hope you've enjoyed our ruby episodes as much as we have enjoyed putting them together. This episode we discuss the science and values side of…
but with that said gem what are your feelings we're gonna we're actually going to get into the ruby right now but what are your feelings about uh ruby formation science we've had some really interesting gemstones geologically speaking how does ruby compare like is it interesting formation like with regards to emeralds there's a lot that happens
yes
to form emeralds
yes do
you feel that same way about rubies or is it more simple
It is, to me at least, it's much, much, much simpler than the emerald formations or aquamarine formations.
And this is the time for a geologist that they know that they hit the jackpot
because
it is so boring.
The formation is so boring.
You're in the forest, right, trying to figure out how to map this formation.
Right.
Exactly.
And you got this basically just the fascias after fascias, so the layer after layer, right?
Mm-hmm.
mineral.
And you immediately know that you hit the jackpot there because if it's a boring mineral, formation-wise, you can just very easily create this map and describe how you created the map.
Thank you, geology gods.
That's so funny to me because I feel like in some instances we like it when things are really complicated because it's interesting.
But at the same time, when it comes to mapping that out, it's like, I don't want this.
