Scratch resistance is a different axis entirely.

Marble sits around 3 to 5 on the Mohs scale.

Quartzite is around 7.

Granite is 6 to 7.

And the thermal thing is worth pausing on, because it's not just a nice property.

It's the reason marble exists in kitchens at all.

Marble has high thermal mass.

It stays cool even in a warm room.

I'm really into marble things right now.

Those are very expensive brand new.

This is a rare type of metamorphic rock that is really rich in minerals, and it is very unique, and it is especially in one of the best vineyards in the Wachau, which I'll talk about later, the Achleiten.

Marble, you don't find it that often, but in the western parts of Wachau, you will find some marble.

And then there's loess.

If you've studied wine before, you must associate loess with Austria because it is rare outside of Austria.

there's no way that this is all marble here because

this is all, it doesn't, it looks like stone now is that old, but it was just really cool looking.

Marble is a kind of stone.

No, like, like, I mean like a regular old, like dusty stone.

I begin with this little anecdote to remind us that as we are on our journey with Jesus, it is gradually and slowly that we are being grown and transformed.
