This was in August 31st? Yeah.

So an unexpected very early September trade.

The New Jersey Devils ship out one of the first-round picks they got in the Simone Nemitz trade, as well as their 2028 second-round pick.

Conditional first-round pick, that is, from Colorado.

For 24-year-old right winger Luke Evangelista.

Luke Evangelista, he's 6'185", right shot, right winger, 24 years old, coming off a bit of a breakout season, a bit of a career year.

81 games played, he had 56 points, 44 assists, so a bit of a playmaker.

Former second-round pick.

Did his junior time with the London Knights, where he pretty lit up over there, actually, a lot.

He had about 100 points in his draft-eligible season, so...

Also, just another note on him, he was a pretty important player for the National Predators, played most of his time in the top six and on the first line, so probably a warehouse slot in New Jersey, but we'll get into that later.
