Blake CreamerHOST

This is a fun one.
Blake CreamerHOST
62:05
Would you rather Luke Evangelista or Arseny Gritsyak?
Nate Groot NibbelinkHOST
62:09
It's tough to go away from Gritschek.
Nate Groot NibbelinkHOST
62:11
He got another two goals here tonight.

Nate Groot NibbelinkHOST

have all gone above 50%.
Nate Groot NibbelinkHOST
67:58
So salute to our graduates there.
Nate Groot NibbelinkHOST
68:02
Number one for me is still Jimmy Snuggerud at 43% rostered, but Luke Evangelista is right there for me.
Nate Groot NibbelinkHOST
68:08
Dylan Cousins right there for me.
Daniel AmoiaHOST
5:34
I mean, his personality, all that stuff.
Daniel AmoiaHOST
5:36
Speaks for itself, when I was interviewing Luke Evangelista a few weeks ago, Gritsuk came over and pretended he was interviewing him with me and then tried to steal Evangelista from the interview and tried to get him to play ping pong.
Daniel AmoiaHOST
5:48
And thankfully, Luke was able to stay for the rest of the interview and put the ping pong on hold for a bit.
Daniel AmoiaHOST
5:54
But look, I mean, frankly, if I was Gritsuk's teammate and I had to deal with the media, I probably would have just ditched the media and went and played ping pong right away.

James NicholsHOST
50:22
Unless you're talking about the Boquist and Brown combination need a switch up.
James NicholsHOST
50:29
Maybe, but I'm really liking what I'm seeing from the depth there.
James NicholsHOST
50:32
But as far as the second line with Nico Timo and Luke Evangelista... sure they haven't they didn't get on the board tonight but certainly though that's a line that you know if the Jack Hughes line isn't going typically that's the one that is so you know I like that trio of players with Timo Mayer Nico Heischer and Luke Evangelista you know they're an offensive offensive line obviously that has defensive responsibility you know again I know everybody will look at the lack of goal total um that timo meyer has but he's doing everything else the right way to help drive offense on that line uh we all have seen the way nico he's been scoring goals and luke evangelista just kind of rounds that line out and does a little bit of everything so um not sure i would break them up i really like what i'm seeing from jesper boquist all around and i don't have any problems with his deployment um and connor brown like you can pluck and place him anywhere and he's going to be successful for me on this team in this system so anything to add there danny
Daniel AmoiaHOST
51:28
Yeah, I mean, this season, that line, 68-43 scoring chance advantage, 26-16 at high danger, and outscoring opponents 5-3.
James FinchHOST
11:50
I don't think anyone is really looking at what they gave up and feel like New Jersey's hurting now.
Kyle StichHOST
11:58
It helps a lot that they swung the trade for Luke Evangelista right before the season.
Kyle StichHOST
12:04
And then Amadeus Lombardi made a brought-in, bought low on Evan Rodriguez.
Kyle StichHOST
12:13
He got back when he sent Markstrom to Florida.
NancyNARRATOR
101:56
His arrival allows Jake Allen to return to backup status, and Hellbuck is active with the puck, helping the Devils' high-flying attack.
NancyNARRATOR

Maeda also beefed up the forward group, and Luke Evangelista has been productive.
NancyNARRATOR
102:14
Arseny Gritsuk is thriving on the top line.
NancyNARRATOR
102:18
And more important, Jack Hughes, aside some more lost teeth, has been healthy this season.

Every line, every defenseman was going to be, as Sheldon Keefe called it during training camp, every player was going to be a bonafide NHL player.
Anthony CoronaHOST
42:17
And not only would they be bonafide NHL players, some of the players that would be playing on your New Jersey Devils by Halloween of 2026 would include, in no particular order, the return of Jesper Boquist, Bokey 2.0, Evan Rodriguez, Luke Evangelista, Connor Hellebach, feel like Kevin McAllister in Home Alone I mean if I came on any program and said that to people at any point of last season you guys would be like this guy is on hardcore drugs full stop you would say this man needs to be put in a rehabilitation center because he has a serious serious drug problem And I don't think anyone would have disagreed because if anyone had told you that at any point last season, that by Halloween, the Devils are going to have legitimate NHL players up and down the lineup.
Anthony CoronaHOST
43:25
Every defenseman was a legitimate NHL defenseman.
Anthony CoronaHOST
43:28
and you're going to have Rodriguez, Boquist, Evangelista, Connor Hellebuck, and that the Devils were kind of rumored in any sort of deals going on, you'd be like, put down the pipe, pal.
TJ PetersonHOST
53:32
They just
Jacob LangsamHOST

got Luke Evangelista also this season, who's off to a pretty solid start.
TJ PetersonHOST
53:36
Underrated player.
Armando VelezGUEST
53:37
Oh, yeah.
Josh HarrisHOST
42:45
He played 13, but Wilson and big pro toss were, you know, up there.
Josh HarrisHOST
42:50
They're 12,900 against a Nashville top line that without Evangelista just does not do anything for me at either ends of the ice.
Josh HarrisHOST
43:00
So like, I think they're fine.
Josh HarrisHOST
43:04
I think the top line is now a strong Cairo tuck by minutes, by how good they've been.
Josh HarrisHOST
44:29
I'm not playing them at 2x their top two.
Josh HarrisHOST
44:32
They're the highest negatively leveraged line on the night.
Josh HarrisHOST
44:35
They have not been good without Luke Evangelista.
Josh HarrisHOST
44:38
With Bork there, they're at best league average offensively.

Nick KieserGUEST
15:11
And if we can build around his mentality for what I have planned, I don't see why they would trade him.
Nick KieserGUEST
15:18
Now, if it's undeniably too good to pass down like you did Luke Evangelista, then I would trade him.
Nick KieserGUEST
15:25
There's no hesitation from me whatsoever to get rid of a guy like that.
Nick KieserGUEST
15:28
But the Matthew Woods of the world, the Brady Martins, Tanner Mullendikes, whichever prospect you want to throw in here, I think it is super pertinent that they keep some of these bigger guys around.
