Google Drive

I love them, but, you know, that was not their focus.

Well, all of a sudden, they realize, like, there is a unmonetized asset that these companies have, which is, like, all the Slack messages and Google Drive, you know, just like the, the corporate data.

And could they basically, at the point of shutdown, buy that data from the company, which creates a new asset that then can help them get more money back for their investors.

They have to clean it and structure it and, you know, kind of do all these things to make it a usable form.

And I had my self-identity just so closely tied.

Anytime anyone had negative feedback about the accelerator, which was inevitable because the first version was just a bunch of Google Drive folders.

If you take it now, you know, you have a beautiful portal and it's organized and there's a TA and all this stuff.

But the first version did not look like that.

Our cloud storage is wrapped up into our Google Workspace.

Most companies align in P&Ls, right? So Google is like, you know, there's a Gmail team and a Drive team and a Waymo team and a YouTube team, and there's a finance team across all, software team across all.

And some companies, it's much rarer, particularly at massive scale, align functionally, right? We have decided to align functionally, where we have a finance team and a software team and a growth team and a hardware team and a supply chain team and a manufacturing team, and that is what they do.

But they do that across different geographies and different markets.

And again, you can add to this, too.

But building, obviously, whether it's a board binder or now we've got Google Drives.

You might have a Google Drive designated for your board.

But contact list of board and staff.

We go like three lifetimes deep at this point.

Noella sent me a Google Drive screenshot from 2019 the other day.

And I was like, that's where we go back.

So, you know, it used to really used to really intimidate me.

That's the copy you need.

And she had it in her client's own words sitting in a random Google Drive folder because she'd been aiming at demographics instead of a person.

So when I get to work with folks, the tangible thing we create when person is a problem or when person is a little bit more nebulous than it could be is a feedback loop that keeps you honest about how your clients actually think, how they feel, how they decide in their own words.

And like everything else, this is a discipline, not just a document.
