Locked On Flyers - Daily Podcast On The Philadelphia Flyers
Oct 30, 2026 · 34 min · 14 segments
On today’s show, Russ and Rachel discuss the immediate adjustments the Philadelphia Flyers can make to turn things around. Then we get into the Halloween spirit and discuss what on this team we’d have…
And yeah, we talked on yesterday's show, Russ, a little bit about, you know, we got three good wins.
We thought maybe they were building on something and then they had three losses after that, which kind of went back to some of the things they had been doing in the previous stretch of losses, but also maybe some new things in terms of, you know, trying to mount comebacks that maybe don't come to fruition and not getting off to good starts.
So I think, you know, we're going to look at it sort of more seriously in this first segment in terms of, you know, like, where is this team now and what's the realistic approach versus an optimistic approach, you know, you know, trying to turn the ship around because the team has three days off.
Well, I mean, they're not going to practice all three, even though, you know, me, I'm always going to say practice all three.
I think they should practice their six on four, six on five, all those iterations, because they're not good.
And again, now they did have a few shots on net, but they don't ever seem like they're a real true threat to score in that situation.
And so like, I feel like just take people out of the stands and have them put on skates and let them go up against them as defenders and see if they can score.
Well, your defense has to be a million times better if you're not going to be scoring.
And I think, you know, while the ultimate goal is to score more and they absolutely should be working on that and they should be looking at the guys who are getting the best opportunities and figuring out ways to set them up more.
I think, you know, on the scoring side, let's go with the hot hands as lukewarm as they may be in the moment.
And then, you know, make some lineup tweaks and maybe put Juracek back in because at least he was taking shots from the point to give net front guys more of an opportunity on the rebound.
Yeah, I mean, sometimes that offense is a defense because you have the puck and you have it in the opponent's zone and something is happening.
I mean, you know, maybe one day I'll do a deep dive into how many defenseman shots are actually getting on net per game.
