I understand that's a big trade for any young player in the National Hockey League, and he had every opportunity to make it work with guys like Logan Cooley, Dylan Gunther, Clayton Keller.

More positives are coming about the franchise, the community, the fan base out here in Utah.

Clayton Keller recently did an interview over on the Cam and Strick podcast.

sorry, the Cam and Strick podcast during, you know, the NHL's Las Vegas media tour, whatever you want to call it there.

And with what he had to say, not just about ownership, but with ownership, I didn't know this.

You guys probably did, but I didn't really see much reporting of it at the time.

But when Clayton Keller's father passed away, Ryan Smith and Chris Armstrong both accompanied Clayton Keller and his family to the funeral.

There are owners who do that.

Um, so I, I think there's room for that to grow.

Uh, I'm gonna talk about it a little bit later with Clayton Keller as well.

I, I think a lot of what is going to fuel the mammoth, uh, top scores this year is going to be some improvement on that power play.

Again, I'll have a few more numbers here in a moment when we talk about Clayton Keller.

Um, the other thing, Biebs, and I'm sure you're gonna allude to it, is that it does feel like there's a little bit of room for time on ice growth here for Dylan Gunther.

Mm-hmm.

I would certainly not knock anybody for drafting him as the seventh ranked right winger.

I think we're splitting hairs here a little bit.

... of an organization right now.

But you know, this, this kinda smells a little bit like when I was in Arizona and they signed Clayton Keller to that long-term deal, and everybody kinda scoffed at Keller getting, I think it was, like, seven by seven or something.

And they were like, "He's not worth it," and, and obviously I think now he's worth it, and he's worth it times 10.

I just think he's such a great player and a, and a great leader.

Fresh Mitten, the Boston Bruins lock up a key piece of their future.

Fraser Mitten, seven-year, $50.4 million extension.

That's similar to the numbers you mentioned on Clayton Keller back in the day.

So it's basically seven for seven.

But speaking of leaders and everything, it is looking like Utah's leadership group is going to remain the same, at least for the guys wearing the stuff on their chest.

It's going to be Clayton Keller, it's going to be Mikhail Sergachev, and it's going to be Lawson Kraus again.

I'm happy with that group.

That was the leadership group that got the team to the playoffs.

Um, so you can think like Logan Cooley and Dylan Gunther.

You can think Clayton Keller and, uh, Nick Schmaltz.

Where, where does that plug the other pieces into, right? And if you think last year, like Clayton Keller and Nick Schmaltz, they had five players at five-on-five play where they played over 85 minutes this past season.

Wow.

Four of those players are still on the Mammoth.

Yeah.

You know you're probably gonna see Sergachev, you know, high umbrella center point.

You know you're gonna see Gunther in that lethal one-timer in the left circle, right? But the question here is, is who's gonna be, you know, goal line bumper? Like, who's gonna be given the option down there? Um, and then who's gonna be, you know, slot? Um, because as you know, Clayton Keller loves that slot pass.

And honestly, I could see him cracking this top 10 easily next year.

Do you see a world where next year he's, like, more valuable than Clayton Keller, who's on the same team, who's kind of got, like, the same kind of archetype where he's a shooter plus points? Keller feels more of the, I don't want to say the talismanics.

I don't think he's talismanic, but I feel like he's a more integral part of the Utah offense.

But one year, you know, one year removed, it could be Gunter we're talking about in that conversation, and Keller is taking a backseat to Gunter.
