Good conversation today with **Julian Andreone** and **Kurt Bardella** — we got into the week’s chaos, what’s actually worth paying attention to, and why staying engaged matters when so many people…
Julian AndreoneGuestAnd I am the furthest thing from a foreign policy expert, but I'm also not a fucking complete moron.
This administration has bungled this every step of the way at every level, whether it's, you know, Pete Keg's breath over at the Department of Idiocrity and, you know, and Trump himself and everything is two weeks away from being finalized.
know for several months now and all of this would be hilarious if it wasn't for the fact that it's costing american lives uh and it's also making us uh the laughing stock on the national stage one of of many um many things so i'm going to go to julian first So what is the status of this deal? Do we know what the status of the deal is? And how does it compare to what was already in place under the Obama administration so many years ago?

I mean, look, any deal to end a war at the end of the day is a good deal because you're putting a stop to carnage.

So even if that requires the United States to sort of surrender or admit defeat, which they've certainly been defeated in this war, and At the very best, they'd be able to get the terms of the JCPOA back.

And you're already seeing some senators and representatives up on the Hill, namely Bill Cassidy, who recently lost his primary in Louisiana, coming out and saying that this is like the worst foreign policy blunder in decades and Reagan would be turning in his grave.

Number one is that it's such a bad deal that you can't put much of a spin on it.

Number two is that some of the war hawks in Congress or some of the neoconservatives are upset with the deal because it doesn't allow Israel to continue fighting this war with the backing of the United States.

And it doesn't continue to funnel money into the military industrial complex.

as it relates to the terms of the deal none of us really know for certain it's a memorandum of understanding there will be i think 60 days to negotiate a final deal and in theory president trump and jd vance will be in switzerland to sign that deal but there's a long time to go until then and this is going to be like the fight of the israel lobby's life because Israel, it's now or never for them.

I mean, they are obviously, you know, embarking on this expansionist project.

And the reason why they're being so aggressive and so imperialist, in my opinion, is because they know that they're losing the American people and they know that at best they have about five years left of aid packages from the United States before public opinion turns to the extent that they would elect a whole new slate of representatives who don't support aid to Israel or, you know, would would it would be politically, you know, fatal to to vote for it.
