Charles HanagriffHostAndy IskoGuestThe, um [laughs] the, the, the air of good feeling, uh, that, uh, came out of the Baltimore, uh, Ravens game for the Saints and was continued through the first two and a half quarters, maybe even almost three quarters of the Raiders game i- is gone now, and it's hard to remember it after what was a, kind of an embarrassing loss, uh, last night in the Superdome.
You hate to use the word embarrassing, okay? Anybody can beat anybody in the NFL.
But, uh, the way that the Saints were handled last night is such a, a disappointment, uh, and leaves them at one and three in a season that, uh, had a, an awful lot of promise to start.
Brian Robinson added three touchdowns on the ground, and so Atlanta was able to do what you wanna do with a quarterback that is working his way back from an injury, and that is limit his, uh, limit his exposure.
He was able to complete those, uh, 15 of those, and kept the, kept the chains moving.
Um, th- that was about as bad, uh, of a, a loss because it just makes you feel like now in this division that Atlanta has life, that Carolina behind Bryce Young, who is off to a phenomenal start, has life, and your opportunities, which you had an opportunity to win the Detroit game, you had an opportunity to win the Raiders game, and then y- uh, you didn't win either one of those, and you come in here, and you just get slapped around, uh, in, in this game from the very beginning.
And with everything that, uh, was built up around this game, the 20-year anniversary, um, the, the former Saints that were there, including Steve Gleason, the, uh, the, the national attention that, uh, this game got on it, to go out, uh, and lay that egg, uh, is as disappointing as it gets.
And for Kellen Moore, um, this is now 21 games that, uh, you have been the coach of the Saints, and your first quarters This, this is no longer something that it's like, well, they're trying to break in a new quarterback last year, or they're changing quarterbacks, or, you know, you had to start this season on the road against, you know, two tough teams.
This is now an indictment on his coaching that you have over 21 games, a season and a month, you don't have your team ready to play.
You can't run through your script offensively with this kind of ineptitude this many times.
You can't come out and give up this many plays on defense this many times over now 21 games, and this is not an indictment on your ability to have your team ready to play.
Now, we- we've sort of given them a little bit of a pass because they've played better in second halves, they've come back, um, they- they've showed heart.
And up until last week, you know, a lot of these fourth quarters had produced some wins.
And this is a real problem because it's not like it's something that hasn't, hasn't been talked about and, and they've tried to address it.
