All right, take your Bibles and turn to Luke chapter 6.

Luke chapter 6.

Because of time, I'm going to lead in the scripture reading today.

But Luke chapter 6, we're continuing our series of going through the Gospels chronologically.

We're bouncing around between all the Gospels, trying to follow a timeline.

of how the events played out.

And we're in Luke 6, and we will read verses 6-11.

Luke 6, 6-11.

So let's all stand, please, as we read God's Word.

Luke 6, 6-11.

I'll read even.

You join me on the odd, and we'll come together on verse 11.

Luke 6, 6-11. says, And it came to pass also on another Sabbath that he entered into the synagogue and taught, and there was a man whose right hand was withered.

And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the Sabbath day, that they might find an accusation against him.

But he knew their thoughts and said to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up and stand forth in the midst.

And he rose and stood forth.

Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing.

Is it lawful on the Sabbath days to do good or to do evil, to save life or to destroy it? And looking round upon them all, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand.

And he did so.

And his hand was restored whole as the other.

Verse 11, let's all read together.

And they were filled with madness and communed one another what they might do to Jesus.

Let's pray.

Father, I pray you'd help us.

I pray we'd be faithful to your word this morning.

I pray that we would, as a church family, we would focus, pay attention.

There's a lot of things in our mind, a lot of different things that we might be thinking about.

But I pray that for the next few moments, we as a church family would focus on Jesus, make him our focus and what he's doing here.

I pray that you'd fill me with your spirit and help us to be spiritual listeners, help us to listen to the Spirit teach us, help us to focus and And certainly, as you teach us, help us to learn and to apply what we know we should do and obey.

I pray you'd help us.

And we ask these things in Jesus' name.
