The thought of becoming a professional athlete never crossed my mind.

I didn't even know what college basketball was.

I know that sounds crazy, but me being a rookie, in the back of my head at times, I thought I was going to get cut.

The Philadelphia 76ers called me in for a second workout, literally the day before the draft.

I gave it everything I had, and by the grace of God, I got drafted number 31.

So once you officially made the NBA, did it feel real?

No, it didn't.

That's a great question.

Nobody has ever asked me that before.

But learning how to say no is probably the biggest thing when you come into millions of dollars.

I look at my phone.

My phone is ringing and my agent is calling me.

And he tells me that I just got traded to the Sacramento Kings.

It's not enough money somebody could pay me to be away from my kids.

So the transition was...

And I left it all out there.

I gave everything I had.

So I didn't have anything else to give.

And...

Yeah, the transition was easy.

It wasn't hard.

I didn't know what to expect, but was it worth it?
