I put it on her because I've been getting a lot of them lately, and they make me emotional every single time.
D
36:32Danny WeiserHOST
Because some fucking monster, the one I saw today, it was a highlight reel, but a slow one.
D
36:57Danny WeiserHOST

Heat Check (2026): 102926
B
21:46Barry JacksonHOST
We've talked about the Grizzlies, other team I mentioned in there, the Mavericks team that beat the Heat in year one of the Big Three era.
B
21:52Barry JacksonHOST
Also, they had Nowitzki, their second-best player.
B
21:55Barry JacksonHOST
Might have been Tyson Chandler, but Dirk's the best shooting big of all time.
B
21:58Barry JacksonHOST
So bottom line is what the Heat's trying to accomplish is historically so rare in this century.
The NBA’s Injury Epidemic, Rookie Review, and Ty Jerome on the Grizzlies!

40:13Zach LoweHOST
2013, 13 years ago at grantland.com, I wrote a column about kind of throwing out the idea of should the NBA move to a 40-minute game? And I talked to tons of people about it.
Z
40:28Zach LoweHOST
They're all quoted in their luminaries from FIBA or who grew up in Europe, like Dirk Nowitzki was quoted in it because FIBA uses a 40 minute game.
Z
40:36Zach LoweHOST
And I liked the idea of like aligning college basketball, FIBA basketball, NBA basketball.
Z
40:42Zach LoweHOST
Ironically, the impetus for that story was you would have playoff games in the NBA that were lasting like two hours and 58 minutes.
40 MINS LATER

Yeah, and they were really, really squeezed for space back

then.
J

Back then, we think about the NBA and the Western Conference ran through all the bigs with the Lakers, with Gasol and Bynum and Odom and Dirk Nowitzki and Dallas and San Antonio with Duncan.
J

They had to get big, so they needed a guy like Kendrick Perkins.

Ultimately, he had to leave the game because of a cramp, and I want to talk about his playoff performance as well.
P
9:56Peter AppelHOST
You know, I don't want to start bringing in the Dirk Mavs conversation when we're talking about heavy rings, because I think Dirk Nowitzki with the Mavs had to go through like eight different Hall of Famers.
P
10:07Peter AppelHOST
Not quite to that extent, but it doesn't take anything away from this ring, not only being incredible for Milwaukee, their first in franchise history, but how heavy it's going to weigh on the fingers of these Brewers players.

for the teams that they had to face.

And the first half, he only played seven minutes because he picked up a foul very early, jumping out on a three-point shooter, which we talked about.
A
12:14Andy PattonHOST
And then he picked up two fouls in about 15 seconds, apart from each other to get go very quickly from two to three which few doesn't usually even let you keep playing when you have two he left him in after he picked up the second when he picked up the third one literally 15 seconds later and got yanked after that so two of five with four points in the first half of this game but then in the second half and you could kind of tell i think you can see especially in a game like this because that was up like around 30 to start the second half so they didn't need to like you know do any things to make sure they didn't lose the lead or anything it was more of like what do we want to establish early in the second half and it was pretty clear the game plan when the second half started was let's get let's get jobs and touches like let's get him the ball and he ends up finishing this game with 10 points on five of seven shooting so again he was two five in the first half so he finishes five of that doesn't make sense he must have been two four in the first half finished five of seven In this game five rebounds for him again he only had the three fouls so he didn't pick up anymore he only played seven minutes in the second half but he looks better and these were like easy paint touches like he wasn't you know throwing up any fancy like super acrobatic Dirk Nowitzki fadeaway jumpers or anything but he was.
