[singing] Can we do it? [upbeat music]
You know what I've seen is back.
Ooh, what?
The high thongs and the low-rise jeans.
Oh, I've seen the low-rise jeans coming back.
I'm like, "Oh, no, gals, please no." [laughs]
But the low-rise I've, I've seen, but the thongs coming up, I didn't, I haven't seen until recently.
That is so funny.
I haven't seen that at all.
[laughs]
Oh, it's, uh-
I won't be partaking in part this one.
[laughs]
[laughs]
This time.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's a whole thing.
So back in the noughties, siblings, if you remember, low-rise jeans-
Yeah
... and then your thongs that you could see through it were all the rage, and I've seen it now-
You done-
That is so funny.
So your thong, like, pulled up so you could see the string above, and then your jeans would be starting-
At your hips
... below.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Super, super high thongs, and I'm like, "That looks so uncomfortable."
I remember going to Miss Selfridge and Topshop to get all these different colored thongs.
[laughs]
Oh.
[laughs]
Oh.
So was it like a different outfit, like a different colored thong to wear-
Yeah
Yeah.
[laughs]
Were you allowed out of the house like that?
Yes.
My mother was letting me away with that? Absolutely not.
It was-
You're just, as soon as you're out-
[laughs]
... she, up comes the thong.
Up comes the thong, down go the jeans.
[laughs]
You're gonna get in trouble.
[laughs]
[laughs] I used to change my clothes before I'd leave, after I'd left the house.
[gasps] Wow.
Raise your hand if you didn't do that.
[laughs]
I didn't.
[laughs] I didn't.
I didn't.
[laughs] No, I don't think I did.
I might have, like, taken off tights.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, or take off a jumper, no?
Yeah, sometimes I guess may, may have, like, taken off a jumper.
I remember, like, having a fight with Mom when I was maybe in second year, 'cause I got boobs relatively early comparatively.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
And I remember I bought, like-
Much earlier than me, which was 16, by the way.
[laughs] Yeah.
Um-
Got there again eventually.
They got there.
They got there.
Yes.
[laughs]
And I remember buying, like, with my pocket money, like, a pretty bra in Penneys.
Oh.
And I remember it so well.
It was, like, kind of like a satiny, um, cream kinda color with, like, little bows.
Like, retrospectively, would I want a 14-year-old-
[laughs]
... my 14-year-old daughter wearing that? Absolutely not.
Like, of course I wouldn't want-
[laughs]
... my 14-year-old daughter wearing that.
But then that's a whole other question in itself.
Um-
Yeah.
[laughs]
... [laughs] I remember just, you know, you get it 'cause you wanna feel grown up, you wanna feel sophisticated.
Um-
Yeah
... and you could kinda see it through, I think I was wearing one of your, like, Abercrombie & Fitch tank tops.
It was, like, a gray tank top, like a scoop neck.
Okay.
Yeah.
Or your blue butterfly peplum top.
Do you remember that one?
No. Peplum?
It was, like, um, blue butterflies on it, and it was, like, a string top, and it had, like, the triangles where the boobs were, and then it kind of flowed out.
Oh, yeah, loved that style.
Yeah.
That's back.
That is back.
[laughs]
My favorite top was...
Oh, sorry, I'll let you finish the story, but my favorite top is, like, so back right now.
I wish I had it.
It was this g- like bright green one, and it was, like, all ...
It was kinda like a bikini top, I suppose, style around the boobs.
[gasps]
And then it was all just flowy, and it would, like, flow down, and it was, like, like asymmetrically done.
[laughs] Unbelievable.
If-
I'm going there.
[laughs] Gonna fish it out.
No, no, nothing stayed.
No
I think that and the green skirt, 'cause I remember being like, "I'll be Tinker Bell for Halloween one year," and I wasn't.
Ooh, the green skirt.
Oh, yeah, the green skirt.
The green rah-rah skirt.
That might be there.
Rah-rah skirts.
If you collect me for the, from the airport on Wednesday, I'll-
I can't collect you from the airport on Wednesday-
Yeah, you-
... with my two children in tow.
Ah, you have a husband.
Give them to children.
[laughs] He'll be at work.
[laughs]
