This episode focuses on the concept of systems thinking and its application to leadership and decision-making. Dr Lugo explains that systems thinking involves understanding the ecosystem as a mixture…
And this, you know, it's not trivial because we just say, oh, we're busy, right? And then we just stop, you know, then we don't do exercise, right? Because we have to do this, but then all of a sudden you're more tired, you know, and then you do more exercise and then you try to do exercise or do more work.
And then all of a sudden, you know, it's this spiral that happens, right? And so that, so yeah, I, you know, it's a priority for me.
Well, and the scheduling part, Lugo, of course, I think everyone has issues with that because things happen, life happens, and then you got to reschedule everything.
If you create good habits of like, you know, I know that you don't even know that there's a 0300 in the morning.
And in fact, my dog knows the routine better than I do because she tells me when it's time to go do this and that.
But anyway, as you develop those routines, as Kavi taught us, then... eventually they become habits eventually they become our identity and i'll tell you uh days that i don't work out it's like what happened i you know i'm missing something and usually the days that i don't work out is because i hurt myself or i you know i'm not i did i overdid it yesterday so now i can't do it today and i don't want to hurt myself so uh but anyway if we can do we're uh humans are made up are happier i guess maybe healthier when we do have a routine and can continue it so if uh you know and we've talked about this before i do i work out first thing in the morning because if i don't i won't something will happen the rest of the day and if nothing else my my uh my spirit will get a take a lull and i'll say nah i don't really want to do it and not do it so um But anyway, that is, as you say, that's critical.
You always got to take care of you first, or else you're going to be wondering what happened.
I'd text her, and I'd say, Captain, did you work out like you said we agreed? I don't remember what the agreement was, but Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and this would be Friday.
