2026 Episode 5: Panos Armenakas, Ella Abdul Massih, Pene Bonovas

But one of the venues and one of the games you did get out to was right here at Valentine's Sports Park.

We've had both cup finals.

We'll start with the Sapphire Cup final, which was won by UNSW.

First time they've ever won that trophy, 1-0.

And you were there on the scene.

An amazing crowd and a real credit to both UNSW and Manly for all the support they were able to bring to make that an occasion.

There was a massive amount of support.

And for me, that's what really set this year apart was we had over 500 attendees there at VSP.

It was an amazing atmosphere.

The chants, the signs.

All of the supporters, Manly had a supporters bus come all the way from Cromer.

So seeing them get off the bus with their cheers and their chants was really next level.

But even on the field, games wise, the girls just absolutely turned up.

You know, it was fighting tooth and nail, especially for Manly.

They had so many shots on goal.

They were very attacking in the first half.

And then when Chloe Smith got the goal, it was a beautiful goal.

And then from there, you know, they were just holding and it was fantastic.

It was very intense, definitely.

There was a lot on the line for both teams and Poppy Channing, player of the match, it was really great.

Yes, got to say, Poppy Channing, one of our guests on the podcast this year.

So the good luck continues for our guests, which is great to see.

Just a shame those Manly fans didn't get a gold at you because there were so many of them.

The other cup final was Sydney United going back-to-back, defending their trophy and extending their record.

They were already the record most times winner, ninth cup for them, and they defeated Apia Leichhardt 3-1, and they deserved it, really.
