Christian HarloffGuestJonathan VoikoPanelistthat all down let's get things kicked off here shall we we're going to start off with this well of course huge shifts and changes are happening at netflix we know they're doing like a 1000 person layoff six percent of their workforce and one of the biggest let goes was bella bajaria last week we talked about this who was the total head of content of all of netflix and they let her go and well Now, we know that the changes haven't stopped.
You see, once they let Bela Bajaria go, they brought in former Disney exec Peter Rice, who Bob Paycheck let go because he was jealous he might take his job.
So he's in there now, which indicated maybe a little bit of a shift in change, but now there's another big change that has happened.
As Netflix has now let go, their film boss, the guy in charge of the movies at Netflix, Dan Lin, who worked under Bela Bajaria as the overall head of content, has now been let go.
And there are whispers that freshly let go from Warner Brothers, Mike DeLuca and Pam Abdi, who are, of course, the film bosses over at Warner Brothers.
Netflix's massive leadership shakeup continues as film chairman Dan Lin has exited after just two and a half years following the departure of chief content officer Bela Bajaria.
With Peter Rice taking control of Netflix's content operations, the streaming giant would be preparing for a major change in how it approaches movies by possibly adding former Warner Brothers film execs DeLuca and Abdi.
The new content leadership, Lynn's departure, follows the exit of Netflix chief content officer, Bella Bajari, who's being replaced, of course, by Peter Rice.
Netflix has also eliminated approximately 1,000 jobs, representing about 6% of its workforce.
Netflix's movie strategy has faced scrutiny over its relationship with major filmmakers, spending decisions, and theatrical release policies.
And not only is he gone, but I told you there are now kind of whispers going around that maybe, perhaps, it's to make way for the newly free-agented Mike DeLuca and Pam Abdi, as Variety wrote the following.
